It takes a village…and when it comes to your home, there’s no exception.
Erin Feasby and Cindy Bleeks have been best friends since University and after graduating and each garnering their own professional design experience, they founded Feasby & Bleeks Design together in 2009 as a full service interior design firm. Known for creating spaces that are comfortable, family friendly and yet sophisticated, together they have built a luxury brand that has become a household name thanks to features both in print and on film. Projects by Feasby & Bleeks have been seen in House & Home, Style at Home, Chatelaine, Today’s Parent, The Globe & Mail, The National Post, The Toronto Star and on The Steven & Chris Show, The Marilyn Denis Show, H&HTV Design Specials, Breakfast Television and House & Home TV.
What first began as two designers working at their dining room tables has grown into an office of talented women, each varied in their experience, allowing their individual talents to be put to use in all facets of our projects.
Erin’s first foray into interior design was as a child, poring over her grandmother’s Architectural Digest magazines. A love of theatre, however, prompted her to attend design school seeking a career in set design. It wasn’t until after graduating that she stumbled upon sketchbooks filled with floor plans and home designs, while cleaning out her childhood home, and realized she was meant to be an interior designer all along.
Since completing her Bachelor of Interior Design at Ryerson University, Erin began her career working for a high-end Design Build firm on custom residential and large-scale cottage projects. She then went on to spend 10 years as Senior Design Editor at Canadian House & Home Magazine, where she oversaw numerous makeovers and created some of their most popular features such as Decorating 101 and the grand prize showhomes for The Princess Margaret Home Lottery.
In 2009, Erin co-founded Feasby & Bleeks Design with fellow Ryerson alum, Cindy Bleeks.
Erin’s satisfying career is balanced by an equally enriching and bustling family life; she enjoys spending quality time with husband Sam, their son Max and identical twin daughters, Lola & Emmy.
As a child, Cindy’s love for creating things was evident early on. Building large-scale floor plans out of leaf piles, tinkering away in the woodshop with her dad and sketching & painting whenever she got the chance, Cindy thought her creativity was more of a hobby. So it’s no surprise that partway through her science degree, she realized she’d made a huge mistake.
After attending Ryerson University and earning her Bachelor of Interior Design, Cindy started her professional career designing alongside a renowned Interior Designer, working between Toronto, New York and West Palm Beach for their high-end clientele. In 2002, Cindy founded her own design firm, which she successfully ran for 7 years. Her services were multifaceted, designing both residential and commercial interiors as well as illustrating and styling features and advertorials for House & Home Magazine. Through these early years of their careers, Cindy and Erin remained best friends and naturally gravitated to a similar aesthetic so it was no surprise when they decided to join forces and collaborate on Feasby & Bleeks Design.
When not running between job sites, her active home life has her splitting her time between the hockey rink, the ski slopes and the dock at the cottage with her husband Ryan, daughter Piper, son Grayer and chocolate lab Lucy.
After completing her education in Interior Design, Lara worked for nearly 20 years as a Designer at a the same high-end design build firm where Erin got her start. In fact, Erin owes a lot of her technical skills to the training she received from Lara in those early years. Working on custom homes and cottages for a discerning clientele, Lara was able to hone her skills and attention to detail into a love for drawing both by hand and on AutoCad. She reunited with Erin & Cindy back in 2010 and has become an essential member of the team handling the technical side of things and overseeing the production of working drawings.
Outside of the office, Lara is kept busy by her three boys - husband Mario & sons Christofer and Marcus.
Stephanie also took a bit of a detour on her way to design school having first completing her Bachelor of Arts in Geography. She then interned with Cindy before moving into the publishing world, working alongside Erin as a Design Editor at Canadian House & Home Magazine. She also has experience in furniture refinishing and is our unofficial crafter, whipping up a hand knit scarf in no time flat.
Stephanie enjoys spending good times at home with her son Luke, big sister Thea, husband Ryan and westie, Charlie.
Carolina has always had a passion for art and design. As a child, growing up in Colombia, she loved to spend hours decorating and changing the furniture layout of her bedroom. After her family moved to Canada, Carolina went on to pursue her Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from Humber College, and continues to grow her experience as a designer as part of the Feasby & Bleeks Design team. Her favourite part of the design process is space planning and millwork design. During her free time, Carolina loves to get outdoors with her husband Sebastian and their black lab Linkoln.
In high school, Helen was torn between accounting and design and design ultimately won out. She attended the Ontario College of Art & Design and graduated from their Industrial Design program which is where she began her career, working for various companies. As time went on, she became more interested in the organization and finances of the companies she worked for. She was able to transition into an Office Manager role at a design build firm and knew it was perfect for her. Helen has over 10 years of Office Manager experience and is happy to use her expertise at Feasby & Bleeks Design.
When Helen is not organizing and making things more efficient, she enjoys cooking at home with her daughter Ella.
Lucy, Cindy’s chocolate lab, is an integral part of the team, keeping spirits high with her easy going nature and can do attitude. She has been photographed for features in Style at Home and Canadian House & Home magazines. Her favourite things include lounging on the dock at the cottage and afternoon naps on the office’s heated floors.
